Q: What can you tell us about your first single, Mama Do?

A: It’s about sneaking out of the house, being a bit naughty and going out to meet a special someone without my parents knowing. I think it really suits me and relates to my age. So it’s really fun to sing.

Q: Hmm sneaking out of the house and being naughty? Are you a bit of a rebel Pixie?

A: I have been known to sneak out the house on the odd occasion but I wouldn’t say I was overly rebellious but I’ve got a little bit of rebel in me.

Q: Did you know instantly that Mama Do would be your first single?

A: I think it’s a great introduction track but as soon as I recorded it, it wasn’t like that’s defiantly going to be the first single. I don’t think it was an instant thing, but I do think it is a good first single for me.

Q: You’re only 18, where do you get your inspiration from?

A: I take my inspiration for the song writing from little experiences, not even if I’ve experienced them myself but say if something has made me sad, I will use that emotion. I just use everyday life and write about it.

Q: What can we expect from you album?

A: It’s very soulful pop but its got elements of RnB and retro sounds but it’s still very contemporary and very fresh. A lot of the songs are really fun, happy and dancey, but otherwise they’re more emotional, more about heartbreak so it’s a good little combination.

Q: Finally, why it is called Turn It Up?

A: It’s called Turn It Up because I want people to turn it up, turn the vibe up, turn everything up, and obviously there’s a song on there called turn it up, there’s the link…

MTV: ¿Que nos podes contar acerca de tu primer single "Mama Do (oh uh oh uh)?
Pixie: Es acerca de escaparse de la casa, ser un poquito traviesa e irse a encontrar con alguien especial sin que mis padres lo sepan.Creo que realmente va conmigo y se relaciona con mi edad asi que es muy divertida para cantar.

MTV: Mmm escaparte de tu casa y ser traviesa? Sos un poco rebelde Pixie?
Pixie: Me conocen por escaparme de mi casa en raras ocasiones pero yo no diria que era demasiado rebelde pero tengo un poco de rebeldia en mi.

MTV: ¿Supiste instantaneamente que Mama Do seria tu primer single?
Pixie: Creo que es una pista de introduccion genial pero apenas lo grabe no fue un "ese desafiantemente va a ser mi primer single". No creo que fue algo instantáneo, pero yo creo que es un buen primer single para mí.

MTV: Tenes solo 18,¿De donde sacas tu inspiracion?
Pixie: Saque la inspiracion para escribir canciones de mis propias pequeñas experiencias, no quiero decir que las halla experimentado yo misma sino que si algo me hizo mal,uso esa emocion. Solo uso el cada dia y escribo acerca de ello.

MTV:¿Que podemos esperar de tu album?
Pixie: Es un disco muy soul-pop pero tiene elementos de RnB y sonidos retros pero sigue siendo muy contemporaneo y fresco. Muchas canciones son realmente divertidas, felices y bailables, pero otras son mas emocionales, mas acerca de roturas de corazones, asi que es una buena combinacion.

MTV: Finalmente, ¿Porque se llama Turn it Up?
Pixie: Se llama Turn it Up porque quiero que la gente se encienda, que suban las vibrasciones,que se encienda todo. Obviamentente tambien hay una cancion llamada "Turn it Up", hay esta la conexion.
